Help Us Help You - Abdominal Symptoms of Cancer

If you've been suffering from tummy troubles such as diarrhoea, bloating or discomfort for three weeks or more, it could be a sign of cancer. It's probably nothing serious, but finding cancer early makes it more treatable and can save lives. You should speak to your GP if you are concerned about any symptoms you have - your NHS is here to see you safely. Please see the below posters for further information:


Help Us Help You - Accessing NHS Services - Mental Health

NHS mental health services, such as Talking Therapies, are accessible and here to help you. If you're struggling to cope with feelings of anxiety or depression, then Talking Therapies can help - they're effective and confidential. Free Youth Culture and Arts Sessions for Young People aged 11+

Taunton North Youth Club are offering free Youth Culture and Arts Session for young people aged 11 and over. They will be every Tuesday from 4th May until 6th July from 5:30pm-8:30pm and will include free food from Domino's Pizza. Over 50s Alcohol Helpline

If you're over 50 and have concerns about your drinking, or you're worried about someone else, then the WithYou Over 50s Alcohol Helpline can help. They have expert advisors who are all trained, experienced alcohol workers. The helpline is available Monday to Friday midday-8pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am-4pm. Sensory, Physical and Occupational Therapy (SPOT)

Somerset County Council's Sensory, Physical and Occupational Therapy (SPOT) services have created a suite of eight new leaflets in response to requests for information from parents, carers and special educational needs coordinators (SENCos). SPOT is made up of four specialist teams:

  • Hearing Support Team
  • Vision Support Team
  • Physical Impairment and Medical Support Team (PIMS)
  • Occupational Therapy

The SPOT service aims to support a child and young person's independence in their educational setting and at home. The leaflets can all be found on: Somerset's Local Offer website.
