Clinics
Please speak to a member of our reception team to book an appointment in one of our specialist clinics.
Asthma
Asthma reviews are available at various times throughout the week with our clinical pharmacist, Clare Cannon. Your asthma review can be carried out face to face or over the telephone.
Smear Tests
A smear test is a 20 minute appointment and can be made at any time throughout the week. Smear tests can be booked with our practice nurses Olena Rudyuk or Ruth Shurley, or one of our GP's Dr Shackleton or Dr Khin.
Antenatal Clinic
Our midwife, Nikala Jones, holds a clinic on a Wednesday.
If you have just found out you are pregnant, you do not need to see a GP unless you have specific concerns you would like to discuss. You can book straight in to see Nikala. To do this, please visit the NHS Somerset Website by clicking the following link: NHS Somerset Maternity Booking Form. You need to fill out the online Maternity Booking Form and the maternity department will then contact you to arrange your first midwife appointment at the surgery.
Diabetic Clinic
Clinics are held on a Tuesday and Thursday each week with our diabetic nurse, Olena Rudyuk.
Family Planning
All the doctors and nurses are happy to discuss this and nearly all forms of contraception can be provided from the surgery.
Emergency and confidential advice is available at all times, by appointment.
Immunisations
Children are notified by the Patient & Practitioner Services at the Primary Care Trust when they need to come for immunisation or check–ups. Clinics are held every Tuesday.
If you plan to go abroad please contact us well in advance as it may take 2 months, or more, to fit in a full course of immunisations (see the travel page).
Minor Surgery
Minor surgical procedures are carried out in the practice under local anaesthetic. Your own doctor will arrange this for you.
Menopause and HRT
All the doctors are able to give advice on these topics.
Chiropody
We host a private clinic on Friday afternoons. You can arrange an appointment through reception. A 20 minute session costs £30.
Physiotherapist
Physiotherapy clinics are held at the surgery every Tuesday morning with Megan Adcock, alternatively, you can choose to be seen at the physiotherapy department at Dene Barton. Your GP can refer you for physio.
